Paid parking, multi-storey and also outside carparks. Very difficult to get a permit unless you live very far away or are a foundation doctor. An on call permit and night shift permit are easy to get.

Buses available and are relatively frequent

Paper notes and paper prescriptions. Everyone has a bleep, including a personal bleep when not on call so it is not bleep free. Requests for bloods, referrals and scans are mostly electronic, but CT, MRI and US are paper.

M&S, two Costa Cafes, WH Smith and the hospital canteen

The mess is ok, it has a few computers, on call rooms to sleep, kitchen, sky tv and nice couches. A lot of doctors use it. The library is excellent, very big, modern and clean with a huge selection of books. Hospital accommodation is on site.

Victoria Gardens, Whitegate Drive or further out like Poulton, St Annes, Lythem etc. Nothing nearby the hospital other than a park
