100% service provision. You work 30-60mins minimum unpaid. You are expected to turn up 30mins early to start but some consultants want to to show up even earlier to have the list ready.
Registrars and most consultants are pretty friendly but the work is 100% service provision without anything to show for it.
There is no departmental teaching or any teaching.

Shambolic department.
Worst 4 month placement I've had to endure. Although the sense of teamwork was excellent and the registrars were very approachable, the patients were very sick and staying 45+ mins late was not uncommon, which effectively made a normal working day 10 hours long. Over 4 months, it took its toll.
Teaching was non-existent.
Weekend shifts were hideous with just one SHO covering the ward and one Reg, second only to night shifts where you have to cross-cover with Ortho. A wholly unreasonable workload for an SHO.
This was the placement that properly burnt me out and left me feeling a new apathy towards Medicine, so proceed with caution.
