Food is tasty, especially Chinese. On-site there is a Subway and Costa coffee as well.
Hospital accommodation on site is high quality and cheap. Most FY doctors live onsite.
Pros - Have a lot of autonomy so as long as things get done by the end of the day, you can mostly do jobs how you want from wherever you want (doctors mess). -Everyone in the hospital feels sorry for you so generally ITU SHOs will come do cannulas if you’re struggling and ITU SpR will review your sick patients because they know Gen Surg regs are un ...More
**REVIEW FOR MEDICAL OUTLIERS** Easy Locum shifts to pick up, you are responsible for Approx -12 patients the whole day. Most will be MFFD with minor adjustments to medications or scans. Can easily be done by lunchtime. Needs good communication as Lots of psych as patient may feel depressed etc when they don’t have an answer to their symptoms e ...More
Spilt into male and female ward. All consultants love teaching, friendly and good doctors. Mix of consultant and “junior” doctor lead WRs, so you get some independence. Long standing SAS who are floating around, happy to give advice but difficult to get a hold of sometimes. Weirdly males have more acute pathology. Lots of chest drains, ascitic ta ...More

Cons Gone down hill- nurses used to do bloods, cannulas etc but now rarely do. Have to hold a stroke bleep and go down to ED whilst doing all your ward ...More

Nice consultants who are invested in teaching and manageable workload, staffing wa ...More
