Poor placement for GP training. Limited teaching opportunities and hard to gel with senior team when present; not always most supportive.
No outpatient clinic opportunities for GP trainees because rota was threadbare.
Rota was diabolical; very few of us and we were shared with medical on-call rota. Rota was 'at risk' when I was there.
Nursing staff were exceptional, but ward manager was hard to work with at times.
Wouldn't go back willingly.

Good consultants but unfortunately they have limited time on the ward and although they have good intentions teaching is limited by this.
Day to day work is managing general orthogeriatric and geriatric patients who have been transferred from the acute hospital. As such there is limited medical work to do but plans are sometimes unclear and discharge is the priority.
Staffing has been the main problem with minimum staffing always and often doctors from other wards covering with occasional days as the only junior. Annual leave isn't possible to take without leaving the ward on less than minimum staffing so study leave is difficult although my mandatory gp teaching is rota'd in.
