Great team, friendly and the rota is probably the best I’ve ever had. Proper induction and teaching throughout, well supported. Department physically small for size of hospital throws up a lot of challenges but great trauma exposure

Awful rota which was late and incorrect, well supported and fab consultants, nurses etc but workload bizarrely distributed so would be very stressed or barely working. Do end up covering acute admission wards which were gen med wards more typically, covering complex wards like neuro and stroke in v specialist centre also bizarre

Avoid for Core Surgical Training! Massive hospital and you get treated like a glorified FY2. Avoid!

Very busy department, on-call rota is horrible, limited surgical experience to have enough cases. Not a good place to prepare for ST3

Gen Psych with BSMHT. Really supportive working environment. Dedicated teaching and learning time. 'Mess' was the on call room for doctors. Finished late at times if something urgent came up or if ward rounds over-ran but easy to get the time back later and never had a problem taking annual or study leave.

Undersupported FY1 year, on SHO rotas for rotations and lack of induction. Not enough senior support and expected to cover large number of wards. In comparison to colleagues elsewhere felt undersupported - choose New Cross if you can as you are treated much better :)
