I have resisted writing this review as there is no point but the recent parking fiasco has prompted me to reconsider.
The department is very cliquey and if you’re not in with certain consultants – forget about having a good time.
Colleagues have had time off for exams, sent away from lists to study, given extra training and sessions… whereas if you’re not ‘in’ you’re left to do an entire list by yourself with your consultant ‘supervising you from their office’.
As another reviewer has said – forget about blocks. Ignoring the fact I was a trainee and learning, your blocks are taken by the regional fellows who make no effort to teach just aim to get their own logbook numbers up at the expense of yours. And some consultants are obsessed with a ‘block room’ – further depriving you of ESSENTIAL (curriculum) experience as a core trainee.
Finally, they are obsessed with the ‘West of Scotland’ way of doing things. Even if this is different to what is done nationally.
I hope I’m not back.

What a terrible terrible place to work, next to no support from consultants for preparation for exams or teaching in general. Overall get treated like rota fodder and just service provision. Don't expect to have a good time.
