Complete service provision. Rapid surgical ward round, then managing bloods, scans, and acute medical issues. Rota was understaffed, so didn’t get a chance to do anything off the ward. A T&O job where none of the foundation trainees got to see a single bone or manage anything orthopaedic. Frustrating.
Awful. No support. Have to deal with situations well above F1 level. Do not recommend. Expect the PA to be able to go to clinics while you are doing bloods. It’s a joke.
Overall the RVI in general seems to be very understaffed compared with other local trusts such as Sunderland and Northumbria. On the orthopaedic rotation there are only 4-5 juniors and you all carry dect phones.
