Very chilled job. Includes 6 week block of AMU.
Mix of hyper acute stroke (including regional centre for mechanical thrombectomy & neurosurgical centre therefore malignant MCA referrals) and stroke rehab (only seeing patients with medical issues - MDT does the rest)
Consultants all quite different styles but overall really nice, they are all contactable easily and feel quite a lot of "ownership" over their own patients.
There's usually a neuro reg and gerries reg in addition to SHO.
Stroke ANP team see referrals then post takes by a consultant. This limits the amount of acute stroke you actually get to see, and the management after initial decisions in ED is quite boring to me. They do try to include a week where you shadow / go with ANPs to see referrals.
On calls are mix of ward cover and medical take (separate teams).
