Experience very dependent on which departments you work in. Rota for acute/elderly/general medicine is well-run and usually well-staffed. Rotas on some specialties such as respiratory and oncology have a lot of gaps.
Generally staff are friendly but the trust is large so lacks the team feel of a smaller hospital.
Mess and changing facilities are poor.
Areas to attend virtual teaching are really lacking.

Very demanding job for an F1. Good when supported but certain aspects of the rota are particularly unsupported for example when on call. Need to seek out further opportunities rather than them being promoted to you.
Departmental teaching was nearly non existent. Less than 5 sessions in 4 months.
Most of the extra staff were friendly and helpful. Some of the ACPs (advanced care practitioners) are bullies, nothing done to deal with them and despite formal complaints raised by multiple individuals regarding harassment and bullying, still work within the team and continue their behaviour, seems to be no accountability to anyone that any of this is sorted. Unsafe working environment.
