Excellent supportive unit. Longstanding culture of both consultants and registrars being very keen to teach and help build your academic portfolio. Unsure of what axe the previous review has to grind, as this unit is widely regarded as one of the best for OMFS teaching. Out of all of the consultants, only a couple do private work outside of NHS time, and it was never at the expense of any training or clinical sessions. Consultants more concerned with doing private work than NHS. Very little interest in juniors and leave the registrars to run things. SHO cross cover ENT on nights - not sure suitable for single qualified dentists to be doing. Wouldn’t recommend SHO job unless things significantly changed over the last few years.
