Abandon all hope ye who enter. Hospital is falling apart. Frequently understaffed. Very limited teaching/support. Has the feel of a hospital that was dreadful forty years ago. A & E has to be one of the worst in the country. If you work here, you will have stories for the rest of your career, so that's probably the only positive. Good mess though, and ICU is probably the only functioning department.

Small hospital feel, you will know virtually all the doctors by the end of the year. Frequent IMG turnover, with expectation for foundation trainees to take up some slack whilst the NHS system is learnt.
Great mess in the middle of the hospital.
The biggest plus is that the staff are friendly, this is across the board and plenty will socialise together outside of the hospital and official mess parties.
The negatives - immediate high expectation for foundation trainees, paper records with intermittent implementation of electronic referrals. Lots of local procedural knowledge needed to become efficient.
